Lannïck Dinard was born in 1953 in
Brazzaville (Congo) where he lived for his first eight years. These eight magical years had a profound influence on his youth. Growing up in equatorial Africa meant growing up to the rhythm of African dances and of wild animals which were part of the everyday experience. These animals included chimpanzees, baby gorillas and panthers. Lannïck followed a strange path, one that was eclectic and mystical (he likes to say that the Congo is the basin of the world). He lived somewhere halfway between the spirit world and rational contemporary thinking. The
Joyous Art (l’Artjoyeux) manages to bridge the gap between these two worlds.
